Born in the Ozark Mountains, Silas spent his early years in a small, humble home that his father built in the woods. His name, fittingly, means "man of the forest." One of his greatest inspirations was his Oma, Meta Parker, a World War II survivor and widow, who lived just down the dirt road. She instilled in him a love for faith, a deep appreciation for life, and the resilience to overcome challenges.

Silas’ journey took him from Central Texas to the West Coast, where he found solace in music, performing with bands and honing his craft as a bass player. Eventually, he made his way back to Austin in 1994, a city he has proudly called home ever since. Music remains an essential part of his life, and he continues to perform in local Austin bands whenever he can.

Beyond music, Silas is deeply connected to his faith and community. He actively participates in worship services at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, serving as a Eucharistic minister, worship leader, and bass player. Among his greatest joys in life is being a father to his son, August, who shares his love for music. Silas treasures the time they spend together, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for life’s experiences.

Whenever possible, Silas retreats to his childhood home in the Ozarks, where he recharges by immersing himself in nature, watching the bears, deer, and other wildlife in the forest that he still considers his sanctuary.

Silas' passion for music runs deep—whether playing bass on stage or simply enjoying the rhythm of life, he finds harmony in both his professional and personal pursuits. His love for the outdoors and music remains a guiding force, shaping his approach to both financial planning and life itself.
